Multi-layer accretion disks around black holes and formation of a hot ion–torus

چکیده
We present the first 2D steady-state numerical radiative hydrodynamical calculations showing the formation of a low-density hot torus in the very inner region of accretion disks around a black hole. The inner part of the disk is found to be thermally unstable when Bremsstrahlung is the dominant cooling mechanism. Within the parameter regime used and in the absence of magnetic fields, the torus-plasma is highly timedependent with supersonic oscillating motion with respect to the electron temperature. When the soft photons from the disk comptonize the electrons efficiently, the ion-pressure supported torus shrinks in volume, but decelerates further the inward motion into the hole. We speculate that magnetic fields would stabilize the tori by lowering its energy package through initiating jets and/or outflows. In the outer region, we find that the scale height of the angular velocity HΩ largely exceeds the scale height of the density Hρ. This yields a multi-layer flow-structure in the vertical direction which slows the inwards motion into the BH significantly, enhancing further the formation of the hot torus.

Calculation of the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of relativistic accretion flows in the Kerr metric.
In this paper, we calculate the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of the relativistic accretion ows in the Kerr metric, overall and without any approximation. We obtain the relations of all components of the relativistic bulk and shear tensor in terms of components of four-velocity and its derivatives, Christoffel symbols and metric components in the BLF. Then, these components are deri...
متن کاملSpectral Signatures of Winds from Accretion Disks around Black Holes
Accretion and outflows are common in systems which include compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars. In the last three decades, numerous models have been built to produce jets and outflows. In the case of black holes, since no matter can escape out of the horizon, some suggested that the jets are formed in the strong field region around black holes in the form of pair plasma (Type ...

متن کاملNeutron Disks Around Black Holes
We study nucleosynthesis in low accretion rate hot advective flows around black holes. We find that matter is generally photo-dissociated into protons and neutrons inside the disk. These neutrons stay around black holes for longer time because they are not coupled to magnetic fields while the protons accrete into the hole. We find the nature of the resulting neutron disks and estimate the rate ...

Study of nucleosynthesis in accretion disks around black holes was initiated by Chakrabarti et al. (1987). In the present work we do the similar analysis using the state-of-the-art disk model, namely, Advective Accretion Disks. During the infall, matter temperature and density are generally increased which are first computed. These quantities are used to obtain local changes in composition, amo...
